On Sunday I had the chance to photograph my dearest friends Kimmie and Jordan (I managed to keep the crying to a minimum). I saw a lot of love, genuine smiles, and Jordan’s happy, squinty eyes.
Imagine if one season of The Bachelorette was five years long and the season was finally ending. That is pretty much how I feel about Kimmie finding Jordan.
I have rooted for contestants I liked, silently screamed at the TV for the ones I did not like, and waited for a new batch of contestants to come around for these past five years. Then Jordan came along and it couldn’t be more perfect.
Kimmie has been my best friend for five years and it has been pretty much like a relationship. I fought with her about hurt feelings and neglect more than my actual boyfriend (haha). She has truly been a great friend and weathered through the storms with me in some of the most difficult seasons of my life. And now I’m so excited for what’s to come in this new season of her life.
Side note: To be clear, I don’t really watch The Bachelorette. The only season I ever watched was Ben Higgins on The Bachelor and he was going around telling everyone he loves them. Unfortunately, I’m a really emotional person and I unequivocally get emotionally attached to characters on TV - which is why I limit the amount of TV shows that involve family, drama, and heartache. All my favorite TV shows are extremely light-hearted with a healthy amount of heart wrenching episodes. So no, I don’t like watching the drama that is The Bachelor/Bachelorette.
