Currently Listening to: Weep With Me | Rend Collective
A few weeks ago, I got to see Rend Collective in concert; I've often been brought to tears from songs about our brokenness but rarely am I brought to tears from songs about celebration. I don't know what it is about Rend Collective but the joy in their worship made such an impression on my heart and I could not stop crying in appreciation of the God who loves me. From the many songs of celebration from Rend Collective, they wrote a song of lament called "Weep With Me." I've had "Weep With Me" on repeat for a few days, reflecting on this song of lament, of seeking and praising Him in the toughest of times. My favorite line is "Lord will You weep with me? I don't need answers, all I need is to know that You care for me."
God has funny little ways to remind me of His goodness and most recently, meeting the Dalton family was one of those ways. Our friend, Jessica, told us about the Dalton family and how they try to take family pictures every six months for Rosie. Rosie, their youngest and miracle baby (as her mom called her), is only three years old and lives with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome and cerebral palsy. Meeting Rosie, I never would have known that she survived three open heart surgeries and a stroke. I don't doubt the difficulty their family must go through but I've never met a more joyful family than theirs. We're incredibly grateful that we were able to meet them and photograph their beautiful family.
