Happy Monday folks! It seems like Friday was just yesterday but it's probably because we had so much fun with our friends in Santa Barbara celebrating our dear friend's birthday. We got to stay at a beautiful beach house and stayed up drinking wine and playing board games. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep this past weekend, especially since we woke up at 6AM to catch the sunrise. I have about a hundred pictures of the sunrise and sunset because it was just that beautiful. We had such a great weekend and I spent a fair amount of time marveling at the fact we had such a good time laughing, talking under the roof of such a beautiful beach house with a breathtaking view. I left with such a happy heart, grateful for the friends we've been blessed with.
Santa Barbara is such a beautiful city besides it's ocean views. We spent our Saturday afternoon downtown and stumbled upon a farmers market that was so unlike the farmers markets we go to here; it just seemed like there was a whole lot more local farms in the surrounding area. Spending some time here made me want to look for a farmers market as great as this one so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
We also made a stop at McConnell's Fine Ice Creams and it was amazing. They have a great mix of unique flavors as well as classic flavors; check out the menu below! I'm not a huge fan of experimental flavors, like Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese, but that's just me. I'm going to go off on a tangent here and explain that Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese is an actual flavor at Salt & Straw. If that flavor is your favorite, I don't mean any offense but it's just honestly one of most interesting flavors I have ever heard of. So anyways, I'm happy to try medium-level adventurous flavors like "Brazilian Coffee" and "Churros Con Leche." You can visit their Yelp page here.
Hopefully we can come back to Santa Barbara soon and explore the restaurants it has to offer.
